Scope of this Standard

This Standard applies to uninterruptible power systems (UPS). The primary function of the UPS for this Standard is to ensure continuity of an alternating power source. The uninterruptible power system may also serve to improve the quality of power source by keeping it within specified characteristics. This Standard is applicable to movable, stationary, fixed, and built-in UPS for distribution systems up to 600 V a.c. This equipment is designed to be installed in accordance with TTS 171: Part 1: 2002, Trinidad and Tobago Electrical Wiring Code Part 1: Low Voltage Installations (including Amendment 1 (2007)) and, unless otherwise identified, the Standard for the protection of Electronic Computer Data- Processing Equipment, ANSI/NFPA 75.
